Award win for Cambridge’s Caroline

Cambridge University Press' Brand and Marketing Lead for Cambridge Core, Caroline Tatam, last night won at the Trailblazer Awards. The awards are a celebration of exceptional people in publishing under 30, sponsored by the London Book Fair and run in partnership with the Society for Young Publishers.

From joining the Press on the Graduate Programme in 2013 to her current role, she has consistently shone throughout her three-year career and achieved major things at just 24 years old.

Her appetite for learning and growth first brought Caroline to the attention of the panel selecting for the Graduate Programme. Straight from the University of Sheffield with a first in Language and Linguistics, she was in the top tier of applicants and quickly demonstrated exceptional talent.

Tristan Collier, Senior Library Marketing Manager explains: "She was incredibly fast at learning the systems and processes within each team but she was also extremely flexible and able to adapt to all roles. But perhaps most importantly she was popular in every team, inspiring both confidence and friendship. This was a very impressive performance for someone just out of University."

Following the Graduate Programme, Caroline took her first permanent job at the Press, focused on marketing ebook and ejournal hosting platforms.

This was a particularly ambitious role, focused on one of the biggest project ever undertaken by Academic Publishing at Cambridge University Press; the replacement of all online e-publishing systems with one integrated platform: Cambridge Core.

Caroline said: "I love working on Cambridge Core because of the way it brings together different mind sets and approaches, which means things are ever changing. It's been great to be a part of the project."

So a very impressive track record for such a short career, but what's next for Caroline? "I don't have a concrete plan for the future, but I'm looking forward to whatever challenges come next."
